*European Nickel Directives
Products intended to come in to direct and prolonged contact with the skin must not release nickel at a rate exceeding 0.5 micrograms per square centimetre per week, for a period of at least two years of normal use. For post assemblies (or earring findings) the permitted maximum release rate is 0.2 micrograms. All products for earrings are sold marked 'low nickel' and conform to these regulations and can therefore legally be sold to be worn next to the skin.
